Unlike a real estate license (Sales Associate License), a broker license allows a person to do business as a firm and sponsor licensed sales associates. Upon passing the Oklahoma real estate exam, a broker has the option of applying for one of the following types of licenses:
Oklahoma has two (2) types of broker applicants with differing license requirements.
BP, BM, and BB are real estate brokers who may supervise sales associates with a license.
Broker Principal, Broker Manager, and Branch Brokers are requried to have 2 years of active license experience as a sales associate or broker associate in Oklahoma.
Licensees looking to obtain a Broker license must complete the 90-Hour Broker Course
Additionally, licensees must take the 15-hour Broker-In-Charge Course to complete their education requirements.
Finally, applicants must provide evidence of 10 real estate transactions they have made within the past 5 years.
Broker Associates are real estate brokers who cannot supervise associates.
Broker Associates must have 2 years of active real estate license experience as a Provisional Sales Associate or Sales Associate.
Licensees looking to obtain a Broker license must complete the 90-Hour Broker Course
