First-Time License Renewal - Texas SAE Courses & Post-Licensing Education

To renew your Salespersons License the first time (two years after passing the Texas real estate licensing exam), you must fulfill the Salesperson's Annual Education (SAE) requirement, which consists of 90 credit-hour elective SAE courses plus 8 hours of Legal Update courses. Sales agents who have been made a supervisor by their broker for six months or more must also take the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course to renew.

Once you have completed your SAE requirement, the next time you renew, you must fulfill the Texas real estate Continuing Education (CE) requirements.

What Is the Difference Between Real Estate SAE and CE Classes?

Real Estate SAE classes are required for real estate licensees during their first renewal cycle or within two years of passing the Texas real estate exam. CE classes, on the other hand, are requried for all subsequent license renewals.
