3-Tiered Structure for Oklahoma Real Estate License Renewal
Oklahoma operates a three-tiered structure for real estate licensees:
- Provisional Sales Associate:
Within the first year after obtaining your Oklahoma real estate license, you are required to complete a 45 credit hour post-license course approved by OREC. learn more about Oklahoma real estate post-license education >
- Sales Associate (SA) or Broker Associate (BA):
All Oklahoma Sales Associates and Broker Associates are required to complete 21 hours of real estate continuing education every 3 years in order to renew their license. learn more about Oklahoma real estate continuing education >
- Broker Manager (BM), Proprietor Broker (BP) OR Branch Broker (BB):
These licensees are also required to complete 21 hours of real estate continuing education every 3 years in order to renew their license, however, the content of the hours is different from the SA or BA license. learn more about Oklahoma BM, BP & BBcontinuing education >
Nonresident Licensees: The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission will accept real estate continuing education CE credit from your home jurisdiction, however, there is a mandatory 3-hour course covering Oklahoma topics that must be included in the 21 hours of CE required each cycle. 2025 OKLAHOMA REAL ESTATE TRAINING REQUIREMENT UPDATE
As of June 1, 2025, the Oklahoma CE requirements will be as follows:
SALESPERSON:
TOTAL CE HOURS NEEDED: 30 hours every three (3) years
Required Coursework:
- One (1) hour in each of the following:
- Broker Relationship Act
- Code and Rules
- Fair Housing
- Hot Topic
- Three (3) hours in Professional Conduct (Code of Ethics)
- Six (6) hours in Contracts and Forms
- All remaining seventeen (17) hours may be completed in elective or required categories
BROKER IN CHARGE:
TOTAL CE HOURS NEEDED: 30 hours every three (3) years
Required Coursework:
- Fifteen (15) hour Broker in Charge course
- Six (6) hours in Contract Forms
- All remaining nine (9) hours may be completed in elective or required categories.
NON-RESIDENT:
TOTAL CE HOURS NEEDED: 8 hours every three (3) years
Required Coursework:
- One (1) hour in each of the following:
- Oklahoma Broker Relationship Act
- Oklahoma Code and Rules
- Six (6) hours in Contract and Forms
