Licensees in the state of Texas are required to complete a total of 18 hours of continuing education (CE) real estate courses every two year licensing period. Of these, all licensees must take the 4 hour Legal Update 1 course and the 4 hour Legal Update 2 course.
A broker who sponsors sales agents, the designated broker of a business entity, or a sales agent who is a delegated supervisor of one or more license holders for six months or more during the current license cycle must also complete a 6 hour broker responsibility course as part of the 18 hour CE requirement.
NEW AGENTS ONLY: Within two years of obtaining your Texas real estate license for the first time, you must complete 90 hours of Salesperson Apprentice Education (SAE). SAE Courses are different than CE courses. Click here for SAE courses or use the SAE navigation on the left.
