How does it affect my license in January 2016?
|Sales agents who are in their apprentice term (SAE) need to satisfy 270 hours of qualifying courses, prior to renewal.||Sales agents in their apprentice year must also complete non-elective CE, TREC Legal Update I and II, before their first renewal.||Prior to this change TREC non-elective CE courses were not required to be taken before a sales agent's first renewal. The TREC Legal update I and II courses are now required for your SAE renewal but do not count as part of the 270 hours of SAE.|
|You must take three hours of TREC Legal and three hours of TREC Ethics as part of your required CE for each renewal.||You must complete four hours each of the TREC Legal Update I and II courses as part of your required CE for your renewal.||The three hours TREC Legal and Ethics courses expire December 13, 2015. License holders that have not completed their required non-elective CE by this date must complete the new TREC Legal Update I and II courses before their renewal.|
|All designated brokers of business entities are required to take the broker responsibility course.||Designated brokers of business entities who sponsor agents must complete the broker responsibility course.||The designated broker of a business entity who does not sponsor agents will not have to take the broker responsibility course. This is a proposed rule that will be voted on by the Commission November 2nd.|
|To renew your license on Active Status you must complete 15 hours of CE (formerly MCE) every license period.||The Commission has proposed requiring 18 hours of CE every license period.||You would need to take a total of 18 hours of CE every two years. This is a proposed rule that will be voted on by the Commission November 2nd.|
New for 2016:
All license holders can earn up to four hours of CE credit for attending the February meeting of the Commission one time every renewal period! This is a proposed rule that will be voted on by the Commission November 2nd.
