Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.”

-- Martin Luther King, Jr.  Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, Oslo, Norway, 1964  (earlier quote from The Purpose of Education)

Perhaps one other purpose of education is to help us achieve our dreams and our own freedom. We all have dreams, and each of us should be able to chase those dreams without discrimination or segregation. As you celebrate Martin Luther King Day we encourage you to spend just a moment considering what your dreams are and how you can reach them through health, education and the freedom to pursue your own path. Then take an additional moment to consider what you can do to allow someone else the opportunity to chase their own dreams.
