Required Personal Financial Management for Bankruptcy Filers is online

Van Education Center is host to the online Personal Financial Management Program, a required debtor education step in the bankruptcy process. The program is completed online post-filing and has been accredited in every jurisdiction in the U.S. The program is part of the VanEd network of programs.

Van Education Center is approved by the Approved by the U.S. Department of Justice United States Trustees for Regions 1 through 21 (Provider #08162) to issue certificates evidencing completion of a Personal Financial Management (Debtor Education) instructional course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of a Provider’s services.

This course is not valid in Oregon.

Who Should Take This Course?

Anyone filing for bankruptcy is required by law to show evidence of completion of debtor education after you file for bankruptcy - but before your debts are discharged.

Pre-requisites: This is the second course required for bankruptcy. Prior to taking this course you are required to undergo Credit Counseling. You will also need a bankruptcy case number prior to receiving your completion certificate.
