Course Difficulty:

PURPOSE: Effective January 1995, the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics was significantly modified to consider the development of new roles for the real estate licensee. Specifically, the ethical considerations relating to the new role of transaction broker, and for buyer agents, have mandated changes in the NAR Code of Ethics. Since 1995, the National Association of REALTORS has continued to revise and expand the Code of Ethics.

ORGANIZATION: Changes affected both Standards of Practice and new Articles of Code of Ethics. By use of role playing, small group discussion of case studies, sample problems for task groups, and class general discussion, the student will be presented with relevant data to develop an awareness of the new broker relationships and the ethical considerations each presents.
