In order to become a licensed real estate agent in the state of Washington, you must first complete a pre- licensing course approved by the Washington Real Estate Commission.

Washington real estate licensing requirements
Sales License
- Be at least 18 years old
- Complete a 60 hour, state approved prelicense course
- Clock hours must be completed within five years prior to application for exam.
- Pass the state exam with a 70%
Brokers License
- Be at least 18 years old
- Show proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of full time experience as a salesperson in Washington or in another jurisdiction having comparable requirements.
- Complete 120 clock hours in the following areas;
- 30 clock hours in Real estate Law.
- 30 clock hours in brokerage management.
- 30 clock hours in buisness management.
- 30 clock hours in any approved elective course.
- Pass the state exam with a 75%.
- The experience and clock hours must be completed within five years prior to application for exam.
