Montana Real Estate License

In order to become a licensed real estate agent in the state of Montana, you must first complete a pre- licensing course approved by the Montana Real Estate Commission.

Montana real estate licensing requirements

Sales License

60 hours of prelicense instruction and pass the state exam with an 80% (70% on the state portion).
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Brokers License

60 hours of prelicense instruction and pass the state exam with an 80%.
At least 2 years as an active licensed salesperson.
And have a minimum of 30 residential transactions, OR 10 commericial, agricultural, or farm and ranch real estate transactions.
