Florida real estate license requirements

To obtain a real estate salesperson license you must complete the required 63-hour course and pass a written examination. Submit a completed Application, fingerprint card, and appropriate fee (may submit this package prior to completing your education. Pass the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate examination with a grade of at least 75% or pass the Florida Real Estate Law Examination with a grade of at least 30. Submit a completed RE 2050 form to activate the license, otherwise the license is issued in an inactive status. If you want to immediately begin working as a real estate sales associate, submit the completed RE 2050 form at the examination site. Otherwise, submit the RE 2050 form to the Division of Real Estate. General Requirements
Postlicense education is required New Licensees All newly licensed sales associate and broker licensees must take required post-licensure education before the end of the first license renewal period. Your license will become null and void if you fail to take the post-licensure education within the initial licensure renewal period, as mandated by Florida statute. Sales Associates who fail to complete the post-licensing education must re-qualify for licensure by meeting all current licensing criteria. Broker and broker associates who fail to complete post-licensing education may request to revert to sales associate status within 6 months following expiration, but must have complied with the applicable continuing education requirements before their new sales associate license can be activated. Attention Real Estate Applicants: Pursuant to Chapter 475, Florida Statutes, electronic fingerprinting became mandatory beginning July 1, 2006, for all real estate applicants.
