Texas Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) Basics

VanEd offers a broad range of courses covering all aspects of real estate practice. All of our real estate continuing education courses are offered online, and can be completed from the comfort of your home or office.

Texas MCE / SAE Information

Texas has a 2-tier continuing education system. To renew your salespersons license the first time, you must fulfill the Salespersons Annual Education (SAE) requirement, which consists of an additional 60 hours of Core courses. You may NOT repeat courses used to satisfy your prelicense requirement.

Once you have completed your SAE requirement, the next time you renew you must fulfill the Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) requirements, which are found at http://www.trec.state.tx.us/education/mce_faq.asp

You are subject to MCE if;

You are a salesperson, not under SAE requirements.
You are a broker not exempted in October 1991 by Senate Bill 432.
