What is the GRI? GRI stands for Graduate, REALTORŪ Institute. The GRI designation is recognized throughout the nation as the standard for real estate professionalism and knowledge. GRI programs provide sound training in the critical skills of the real estate business and provide education in current real estate topics and issues. The GRI designation signifies a dedicated and knowledgeable agent. Wearing the GRI pin, displaying the GRI certificate, putting the logo on business cards and stationery. "GRI" after the name are ways REALTORSŪ communicate their professional achievement. The GRI designation is granted through state associations whose Institute courses of study meet the standards established by the National Association of REALTORSŪ. Colorado's GRI ranks as one of the country's top Institute programs. Students of the Colorado GRI (Graduate REALTORŪ Institute) program saw some exciting changes that started in January 2005, with the rollout of the first phase of a more "user-friendly" program. For the first time in the history of the Colorado program, students are able to choose their own courses based on their personal goals and interests of study through the selection of "Elective Courses" in addition to some of the required topics. Day long courses are six hours and it takes only 90 course hours to complete the program. The purpose for the changes is to bring Colorado's program more inline with the National Association of REALTORSŪ guidelines; deliver course topics in more manageable segments that add to the learning process versus complicating students' normal course of business. Tuition for the GRI program is $80 per course. Who should earn the GRI? Agents, brokers, office managers, new REALTORSŪ and seasoned professionals all benefit from the up-to-date information offered by the REALTORŪ Institute of Colorado.
