By mastering some of the basic construction styles, as well as such items as heating systems, areas of concern in construction contracts, construction financing, energy conservation, zoning, homeowners associations, and building codes, you will be better equipped to work with buyers and sellers.
Your skills will be enhanced, and you will appear more professional and knowledgeable if you are able to answer questions concerning these areas, as well as provide insights and suggestions to your clients. You will also be better able to help your clients find the home that best suits their needs if you know some of the pros and cons of architectural styles, energy demands, budget constraints, and other subjects covered in this course.
It will also be to your benefit to be able to discuss water rights, water sources, types of sanitary waste systems, and environmental concerns. You will be able to discuss with your clients the differences in new and existing home warranty programs, as well as prepare them for some of the "surprises" they may encounter when dealing with municipal building bureaucrats and inspectors.
