The purpose of this course is to provide a solid foundation for understanding the development process for land use law. The course will explain how the work that cities and counties do in the area of land use is shaped and controlled by the law. To understand this interplay, you will be introduced to how legal authority is established, divided, and created in the United States and the states. The course will also explain how those same land use laws are enforced.

The first section of this course addresses how land use laws are established. Section two will discuss how land use laws are enforced and applied.
